Quinta 28 Jun – Super Bock Super Rock, Act I
Festival Super Rock Super Bock Dia 1: Super Metallica!

Thu 28 Jun – Super Bock Super Rock, Act I

Thu 28 Jun – Super Bock Super Rock, Act I
This was nothing else than classic vintage Metallica; the setlist included early years classics (such as Battery, From Whom The Bell Tolls, One, Master Of Puppets) and added a few suprises namely the performance of the Cliff Burton's era Orion.
And the energy ?!
Wwooowwww... more than 2:30 hours of it !...
After the two (expected) encores which ended with Enter Sandman, the crowd demanded Hetfield, Hammett, Ulrich and Trujilo back on stage... they played one more song and had nothing more to give other than guitar picks, hi-fives and total dedication to the fans... -
SBSR'07, act1
Jun 26 2007, 17h01 por Slip-Thievery
As you may have seen in a comment to my last journal entry, after days of uncertainty and general busy-ness it seems my fate is to go and see the metal monsters at SBSR act1 \m/
Most probably I won't have time to see the promising portuguese bands that will open the event, but at least I'll get to see Metallica, Satriani, Stone Sour, and especially Mastodon. Now, I'd just like to take this opportunity to put this simple question into the cyberspace: How can one of the very best metal bands of the moment be 4th-to-last in the line-up? Surely there's a lot of quality rock/metal overall, but Stone Sour won't have a very easy task after the Mastodon call! Unless the idea is to peak early in the day and leave the others to pick up the pieces ;)
PS. Leo is the man. Now back to work ;_; -
Rubyripper, Boris and LSD
Mai 9 2007, 12h07 por menkhaf
I finally found a decent CD ripper for Linux. Rubyripper is the program in question. I installed it a few hours ago and spent the next few hours pondering on how I could obtain the CD-ROM drive offset needed for making near perfect rips.
I ended up with installing dBpowerAMP and the AccurateRip DLL, both from Illustrate. Illustrate maintains a database off a lot of CD-ROM drive offsets, but my drive wasn't present, so I had to find the offset myself. A a lot of hassle, the offset was obtained, and I can finally reveal it to the whole world: The offset for the SONY DW-Q78A (SYS1) DVD-RW drive is +6!
I've now ripped my first CD using Rubyripper, and so far, no problems. I'm ripping my albums to both FLAC and Lame MP3 as stated in a previous journal, and Rubyripper has support for multiple encoders.
I've read a bit about the Pink on Wikipedia, and I was surprised to see LSD mentioned under the pressing history. I haven't even looked at the album artwork before now, I've been to busy with listening to the CD. … -
Boris at Roskilde, Interrail in Europe, Nakkefestival
Abr 21 2007, 19h05 por menkhaf
Just found out that Boris are playing at this years Roskilde Festival. I've only heard them a bit, so I'm really looking forward to this.
That, and the loads of other bands/artists that seem interesting at this years festival. Volbeat are opening this year. The Killers, Klaxons, especially Beastie Boys, Queens of the Stone Age, Trentemøller.
I'm going interrailing with a good friend in Europe in June. Metallica are playing at Super Bock Super Rock festival in Lisboa, Portugal. We're thinking of spending a single day at the festival, and then returning to Denmark and Roskilde Festival.
After Roskilde Festival, it's time for Nakkefestival. I really hope Ras Bolding is playing this year. I didn't really see his show last year, just heard a bit of it walking by, but this year... -
