Das neue AREA4-Festival hat 2005 zum ersten Mal in Oberhausen stattgefunden. Auf dem Open Air Gelände der König-Pilsener-ARENA feierten 10.000 Besucher mit rund 15 Bands wie System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, Beatsteaks und Madsen.
Nach diesem Debuterfolg sollte das Festival auf drei Tage ausgedehnt werden und mit dem Gelände des Segelflugplatzes Borkenberge in Lüdinghausen (zwischen Dortmund und Münster) war ein idealer Platz gefunden!

Nachdem AUDIOSLAVE kurzfristig ihre gesamte Europatour und damit auch den Auftritt auf dem AREA4 abgesagt haben und ein weiterer favorisierter Headliner ebenfalls nicht zum genannten Termin spielen kann, wird es in diesem Jahr nur eine kleinere Variante – das AREA4 Festival Special - im Gelsenkirchener Amphitheater geben.

Für 2007 nehmen wir das schöne Gelände in Lüdinghausen wieder für ein AREA4 Festival in unsere Planung mit auf!

    juhuuu! wie geil war DAS denn? top of the pops: art brut, datsuns, trail of dead, nofx, billy talent, soulfly. mittelmaß: turbostaat, mando diao, sparta, hives. flops: itchy poopzpid (kannte ich vorher nicht und weiß jetzt auch, warum), blackmail (man kann kaum unsympathischer arrogant sein als der frontmann). und jetzt: schweinehaufen! ich fahr jetzt zum AREA5, machts gut, ihr trottel ;)
