Tangerine Dream
Earning a tenacious cult following in 1974 for their stunning debut album Phaedra, the groundbreaking German group Tangerine Dream has played a major role in the rise of electronic music – from the krautrock of the early ‘70s to the synth pop of the ‘80s to the ambient and electronica dance music of today. Led by visionary founder Edgar Froese, this über-influential band brings their spacey, pulsating sound to UCLA Live in a concert celebrating its 40th anniversary. Accompanied by the group’s dazzling trademark light and video choreography, the program will feature music from their more than 50 television and movie soundtracks, and some of their most popular works from the 1970s-1990s. “Tangerine Dream stays vigorously on track and on theme, daring their listeners to follow them into the surreal landscapes of the dreamed and desired” [The New York Times].

Currently there are 103 people going along to the pre-concert Meet at the "Abbey Tavern" in Kentish Town (London) on Nov 1st from 1pm. Additionally everyone who turns up and leaves their name will be entered into a free raffle (with at least a dozen TD music prizes) The Edinburgh Fan Meet will be at the "Mathers Bar" (Lothian Road) on Nov 2nd from 4pm A Los Angeles meet is also being arranged for the UCLA "Royce Hall" on November 7th. Please note these are Tangerine Dream's only tour dates in the UK and USA in 2008, don't miss out!. TD Live at the Royce Hall, UCLA, LA, Nov 7th 2008 Just to re-post this from the official site, apparently just over a 1000 tickets have been sold to members of the college already, 'before' the tickets go on sale later this week. That leaves approx 750 for other TD fans...so hurry or you'll miss out on TD's only US gig in years
