Maximo Park are pleased to announce a special one off concert at the Forum in Kentish Town, London on 28th May 2008!

Support comes from Mystery Jets, Blood Red Shoes and Pete and the Pirates. The show is in aid of two cancer charities including The Royal Marsden. It will be one of the bands few live appearances this year and looks like being a very special evening. All proceeds from the night will go to charity.

Paul writes “When someone you know is up against cancer it makes sense to give them your full support. Since that is currently the case, and that person is being treated at The Royal Marsden hospital, which was recently damaged by fire, we decided to do what we can as a band. What we do best is play concerts and we intend to give all profit from our gig at The Forum to help rebuild the cancer unit where they not only look after sufferers but continue to further our knowledge and treatment of the disease. We’ve never been a preachy band or asked people to shell out daft amounts for tickets, but this show will be well worth the entry fee for a number of reasons.”

    I'm glad other people thought that Mystery Jets were a bit wank - as the crowd seemed to be totally nuts about them I thought I must have been missing something as I didn't think they were all that. The sound was off too, and I could have done without the pillock in the hat next to me throwing cups of beer about. I did enjoy it though.

    The sound was absolute rubbish that night :/ Fiorst time at the Forum - hopefully never again. Loved the Park thu. Oh - and Mystery Jets were my second faves....love to see them again...

    Maximo were good, I've seen them loads of times and this wasn't my fav gig of theirs but twas ok. I like Blood Red Shoes, Mystery Jets were bloody awful, soooo dull.

    maximo park and blood red shoes were good, sound was terrible some of the time. i mean what the hell was going on for the first maximo park song? mystery jets were RUBBISH, their new single that they played was hideous

    it was ok. Maximo were decent, Mystery Jets are overrated tosh, blood red shoes are gimmicky. Sound in there was fucking disgraceful as usual

    it was t3h lamez. Maximo was good, so where blood red shoes, rest were boring, as was the 30/40 min setup time! Cancer guy was funny.

    Honestly, why are Mystery Jets so big? Maxïmo Park were amazing though, again. :)
