Thu 12 Jun – Iron MaidenLast night a group of five of us were enslaved by what we agreed was the best Iron Maiden show we've seen in years, maybe since the 80s! One of us had not seen them since 1988, and one never had - what a treat of a first show for her.
They're pulling out all the stops on this tour, as you've probably read elsewhere, but it must be seen to be believed: it is an awesomely powerful experience to once again see live Maiden with the full classic
Powerslave stage set, pyro, fireworks, the android Eddie, and a setlist covering the best of the beast.
A nice surprise, too, to have the full mummy Eddie rise from behind the pharaoh Eddie mask over
Nicko McBrain's kit, just like we saw on the World Slavery Tour and shown in the great Live After Death DVD that we watched/listened to on the road trip down to the show (convenient that
Johnny Vinyl has a DVD player in his ride). I thought that when I listened to
Bruce Dickinson and
Dave Murray talking with Bob…
