Went on the Friday and had a top time - for me The National where blinding, highlight of the day without a doubt. I've seen them three times this year and they seem to get better and better each time. I had a conversation with a mate beforehand that went a little something like this: mate: "I'm interested to see how a lo-fi band will come across in this kind of setting" me: "There's nothing lo-fi about The National when they play live" Now I see it written down 'conversation' seems a little generous. More of an exchange? Aaaanyhoow, very much enjoyed the Guillemots too. Morrissey strangely boring despite the fact that I'm a fan...

Morrissey was fantastic but I agree gemmanetics there were a few tosspots acting like complete tools near me at one point! Didn't spoil a thing though and they buggered off after a while. He did a superb set. Enjoyed Dirty Pretty Things and was glad to discover Black Kids, really loved them. Superb day!

Morrissey was amazing, although a lot of Morrissey fans are absolute tossers, while others were wonderful. Beck was much better than I expected, I had an awesome time.

welldoyouwanna, i agree with you wholeheartedly. The National stole the show hands down. Much as i like Morrissey and adore the Smiths (and appreciative of all 2(!?) of the Smiths songs he played) I found him rather samey after a while, sticking to a mostly 'purist fans only' setlist and accompanied by his 'matching t-shirt' Jonathan Ross-esque 4 Poofs and a Piano. (Loved his Burger/death/meat remarks though:) The National... well, can you imagine what a wall of sound they might have created were they on the main stage? Without fanfare and preamble, they delivered a powerful, euphoric and beautiful performance, and within a rather modest tent setting. Nothing Fake about their Empire. Worth the Wireless ticket price alone.

Wow. So no one has mentioned how INSANELY AMAZING The National were? I'm disappointed in you all. Yes Morrissey isn't half bad at all, the select few Smiths songs were top notch too. But really. You missed out on something magic. Morrissey expects love and praise. He's good, but a cocky git. Matt (of The national) gave the set everything and seemed to truly mean everything. So so impressed. They were somewhat shocked when everyone was screaming love and praise for them. The best thing I've seen in a long time. Go check them out if you haven't already!

I don't think it is the Scientology, he's been part of it since birth hasn't he? I saw him in 2006 and he was great fun- I think it's a conscious decision to do a no-frills type of performance... last time there was puppets, dancing, dinner tables...

I agree w/ thomington and Jookstevens. Is it the Scientology that's making Beck soporific? When I saw him at Brixton Academy/Midnite Vultures in 2000, he was doing the splits, jumping around - getting everyone so wild. What happened? Golferkid, you have destroyed my faith in humankind. MunchyBrain and FluffySpider, you have restored it.

did anyone else win tickets to the secret sessions? i did....got to see the wombats in a tiny room back stage playing acoustic, they were recording it for MTV i think. The text message i recieved about it didnt state who was playing, was gutted when it was the wombats, i was really hoping for the national or moz or beck obv :-P i agree with most people here tho - beck was underwhelming and moz kinda lost it half way in terms of song choice. And im horrified to say i didnt pick up on the buzzcocks cover! Otherwise i had a great day, it was over too quickly and i didnt get to see half as much music as id hoped but ill most probably be back next year!

Beck was a little disappointing, nowhere near as good as last time I saw him. Morrissey was great as usual but I thought the setlist fell flat in the middle of the gig. Still, he played some of my favourite Smiths songs that I haven't heard live before so I was delighted with that.

Yesterday was fantastic, would have liked to have seen Souxie but didn't get round to it. Most of the the acts were great (Morrissey especially, obviously), and even the ones that were't were still pretty entertaining (did Lightspeed's drummer remind you of Catherine Tate or Kate Nash more?). By the way, TimeShaper, I'm 16 and got the Buzzcoccks cover!

Another great Morrissey performance. Quite shocked to see all the blank faces when he kicked into Buzzcocks' "You Say You Don't Love Me"! Now I know I'm getting old.

To those going today or tomorrow, please watch out for pickpockets. My friend got his phone stolen during Morrissey and I believe a few others did too. Apart from that a really good gig.

Some excellent sets yesterday - Siouxsie and New York Dolls both clearly enjoying themselves, ended up seeing Dirty Pretty Things twice (the benefit of being on a small site) and, of course, Morrissey was fantastic (a good sprinkling of Smiths faves too)

Jay Z was soo good! he performed the same set as the one at Glastonbury but to be there and see him live was a different experience. Kano performed new material from his new album, its iight! Mark Ronson was class, loads of different guests performing which was a touch.
