Janketastic: As my pops always said Opinions are like assholes everyone as one. I'm glad you find BTBAM entertaining, but you can not convince that they are a progressive band. Anyways the only thing that matters is the classical sauce.

Two epic 15 min songs... is that what they were playing? -.- it went right over my head. I'll take Black Rose Immortal or A Change of Seasons as epics over the former two any day.

Most definitely to each his own. I mean, it's cool if people weren't into them, you like what you like. But if you actually listen to the music there's no way you can deny that BTBAM aren't any more progressive than Dream Theater. They just more metal and have harsh vocals. Why do you think Portnoy picked this band to be a part of a tour called Progressive Nation?

Yeah, all they did was mix hardcore and mellow parts. Nevermind the crazy time signatures or complex and dynamic song structures that bridge a shit-ton of styles in one song. Not to mention some guitar solos that might even bring Sr. Petrucci to his knees. Yeah, in the two epic 15 minute songs they played, all they did was play loud to soft.

Janketastic: The term progressive is so easily handed out these days. BTBAM is far from progressive the only thing they might do that is progressive is mash hardcore with mellow parts (very poorly I might add). But, whatever to each their own.

Three was AMAZING! These guys completely blew my mind. I purchased 2 of their CD's after the show, and both are great from beginning to end. If you haven't already, you have to check them out: http://www.theband3.com/home.html

Are you people seriously trying to tell me BTBAM isn't progressive metal?

I caught the last song of Three, what I heard seemed pretty interesting. Didn't care for BTBAM at all. Thoroughly enjoyed Opeth and agree, I wish they could've played longer. Dream Theater were as always, excellent. The show should have started earlier to allow the headliners more time to play...or cut one BTBAM loose since they seemed like the odd duck.

Dream Theater was fucking awesome. Opeth was great too, and I do agree they should've gotten more play time. BTBAM was... interesting, but not my cup of tea. My friend and I walked in on the last song or two Three played. Didn't really care about them.

I found BTBAM's lead singer to sound whiny. He sounded like the Tazmanian Devil. I thoroughly enjoyed all the bands but BTBAM.

he's referring to BTBAM but as far as hardcore goes they are pretty decent. i do agree that it would be nice if it was progressive metal only though

I was unaware that there was a shitty hardcore band playing on this tour.

Next time, Dream Theater: Don't hog the set. We know as well as you do that Opeth deserves more time.

It's cool M0rd, yeah that guy was definitley too low in the mix. All 4 bands ruled, it was an amazing show. Opeth was brilliant, the only band I hadn't seen live out of the bunch and now I'll make sure to see them every chance i get. DT played motherfucking BLIND FAITH. Good lord I nearly creamed my jeans.

Janketastic, about 3... I didn't think they were that good. They were different and that in itself was good, but I did not like the random percussionist guy. I never heard anything he did except for the cowbell and the occassional cymbal crash. guess he must be doing that because of his infrequent keyboard parts, but any perc. stuff he was doing should have been handled by the drummer if he is co

I just got back. 3 was actually pretty fucking good. Opeth didn't get enough play time, their six songs were: Master's Apprentices, The Baying of the Hounds, In My Time of Need, Wreath, Heir Apparent, The Drapery Falls. One thing I've noticed is Opeth doesn't play their old stuff much and that causes me serious worry. Dream Theater absolutely rocked, the Mario Bros bit kicked ass too!

First time seeing Opeth, and man, did they rock. Loved the Super Mario bit before DT's encore.
