Rock am Ring ist ein Musikfestival auf dem Nürburgring in der Nähe des Ortes Adenau in der Eifel. Es wurde erstmalig im Jahr 1985 veranstaltet. Die Veranstaltung war ursprünglich als ein einmaliges Event geplant. Aufgrund des großen Erfolges (75.000 Zuschauer) entschloss man sich jedoch, diese Veranstaltung jedes Jahr stattfinden zu lassen.

The Rock am Ring (Rock at the Ring) and Rock im Park festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually in Germany. While Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in the west of Germany, Rock im Park takes place in and around the Frankenstadion in Nürnberg, in the south east of Germany.
Both festivals are usually regarded one event with an identical Lineup for both festivals. All artists perform one day at Nürburgring and another day at Nürnberg during the three day event. The split locations serve to minimize the distance and therefore maximize the audience.
Rock im Park and Rock am Ring are together the largest music festival in Germany and one of the largest in the world with a combined attendance of 150,000 people in 2007.

Fly to Frankfurt or Cologne then train or coach to koblenz then shuttle bus to site.

Ach, war insgesamt von Mittwoch bis Montag geiles Wetter (die bei Rock im Park sind abgesoffen ^^) und ja ok: aus gewisser Entfernung war der Sound von der Center kacke, aber für alle nicht so guten Sachen hat eins ganz klar alles wett gemacht: RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!!! =====) Ich hätte nie gedacht, es sooooo BOMBE werden würde! ^^ Nächstes Jahr garantiert das 3. mal voll machen =)

As our first time over there, wtf happened to the sound?? It was rubbish and totally ruined loads of bands, Nightwish were screwed over totally... and it was the same all weekend? Thoughts? Just got back from Download back here in the UK and first day it sounded the same as Rock Am, quiet no bass and rubbish. Luckily they managed to sort it and the rest of the fest was awesome. Anyone else have issues?
