Blackalicious

Blackalicious are a hip-hop duo from Sacramento, California, responsible for the genre defining albums, ‘Nia’ (1999), ‘Blazing Arrow’ (2002) and ‘The Craft’ (2005).

Their debut album ‘Nia’ was produced by DJ Shadow and released on James Lavell’s Mo’Wax label. The duo would go on form part of Soulsides with DJ Shadow which then grew into Quannum Projects, which in turn saw the release of the compilation ‘Solesides Greatest Bumps’ on Ninja Tune in 2000.

Their second album ‘Blazing Arrow’ was released on Universal, followed by ‘The Craft’ on Epitaph, which would be the duos last release for a decade.

After a 10 year gap Blackalicious are BACK, along with the upcoming new album called ‘Emoni’, dropping in March 2015.
