It’s been said there’s something in the water in WA, and Spinning Top Music are proud ambassadors of that notion. In this Festival standout, they deliver the talent of their local repertoire in one incredible night of west coast wonder.
After last year’s release of Hobo Rocket the formidable Pond headed straight back into the studio and in this very special performance unleash the warm psychedelic magic of their sixth album Man It Feels Like Space Again. Felicity Groom’s brooding vocals saunter up in style as she presents the futuristic new sounds from her highly anticipated second release, the follow up to the much adored debut Gossamer. Neo-psych rock pioneers The Silents (local wunderkinds and recent winners of NME’s 2013 Album of the Year, Tame Impala, name them as an influence) regroup after a hiatus to deliver their oscillating melodies.
With an unmissable set by the very mysterious AAA Aardvarks Getdown Services, and island rhapsodies from local DJ Lady Carla, meet us in the Gardens for Spinning Top Music’s showcase of WA’s very best, outstanding artists who have simultaneously charmed hometown hearts, and attracted unprecedented worldwide attention.
