Sinéad O’Connor war schon immer unverkennbar. Eine Stimme geboren, um gleichermaßen Herzen wie Gläser zu zersprengen, so sanft wie auch kritisch. Ein Gesicht, zugleich Engel mit ozeantiefen Augen und kurzgeschorene Kriegerkönigin. 25 Jahre nach ihrem Debut von 1987 ‘The Lion And The Cobra’ und den folgenden weltweiten Erfolgen wie das mehrfach mit Platin ausgezeichnete Album ‘I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got’ von 1990 und der darauf enthaltenen unvergesslichen Nummer-Eins-Version von Princes ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, kehrt die temperamentvolle, couragierte Irin mit ‘How About I Be Me (And You Be You)’ zurück, ihrem neunten Studioalbum. Produziert von ihrem langjährigen Kollaborateur John Reynolds, reihen sich diese zehn Songs, wie ein enzyklopädisches Abbild von O’Connors Lebenswerk aneinander - Songs über Liebe und Verlust, Hoffnung und Reue, Schmerz und Erlösung, Wut und Gerechtigkeit. Auch die übergeordnete Message der meinungsstarken Popsängerin ist deutlich zu verstehen: Sei zuversichtlich, zuversichtlich darin, wer du bist und wie du bist. Im April kommt die einzigartige Sinéad für drei Shows nach Deutschland um ‘How About I Be Me (And You Be You)’ vorzustellen.
