Ein Hauch Tragik, eine Spur Romantik. Synthpop-Klänge, die einmal quer durch den Körper schneiden, Tanz-Synapsen aktivieren und sich dann in unmittelbarer Nähe der linken Herzkammer ablagern. Verantwortlich für diese Reflexe sind Gregg Anthe und Emmanuelle Desmonts Roudgé (Lyrics).
Mitverantwortlich für die Studioproduktion ist Alain Seghir, welcher mit dem Projekt ‘Martin Dupont‘ elementarer Vertreter der französischen New Wave ist.
Ihr erstes Album “Pièce Radiophonique” ( LP 8 Tranks) ist beim französischen Label ‘La Forme Lente‘ erschienen.

Philippe Laurent – Hot-Bip (Minimal Wave records) - DJ Set

Seit den späten 70er Jahren ist Philippe Laurent ein wegweisendes Element der elektronischen Musikszene. Einer seiner musikalischen Verästelungen entspringt die in den 80er Jahren entstandene, auf Kassette produzierte ‘Hot-Bip‘-LP, welche beim amerikanischen Label ‘Minimal Wave Records‘ neu editiert auf Vinyl erschienen ist.

Philippe Laurent is a plastic artist, musician and designer. Whether working with graphic codes or digital codes, plastic arts or music, Laurent’s approach is one of research, specifically having to do with people’s perception of signs and symbols. As a multi-media artist, he has always been open to new technologies, whether he is composing musical works or creating graphic works. During the 90s, he reached a landmark with his inter-disciplinary work via shows in France and Germany, by designing complex pieces that mixed various advanced techniques.

“Excellent spacey and avant-leaning synthpop reissued by the consistently trustworthy Minimal Wave label. Bar scarce cassette compilation appearances, these ten tracks, dating between 1979-1988, have largely remained the preserve of heads in the know, until now. Under the Hot-Bip handle Philippe created a curious world of angular electro and odder pop styles ranging from sinister-edged yet funky bits like ‘Distorsion’, to the incredible Chris Carter/Drexciyan electro of ‘Système Clair’, and a ruck of stunning EBM/Techno-Popp goodies such as ‘Rapide 5’, ‘Le Temps Des Cerises’ or ‘Industrieuse 3’.
