PALAIS SCHAUMBURG CANCELLED!

Earlier this afternoon Magnet Musik representing Palais Schaumburg informed us that Holger Hiller (vocals / guitar) will not be able to perform on Saturday, rendering the Palais Schaumburg Live show impossible. Hiller had a cycling accident. Initially he thought he would be ok for the Rotterdam date, but then his condition worsened and during a doctor check up Holger was told he wasn’t allowed to perform within the next four weeks because of his injuries. The band is very sorry about this and promises to catch up with a new Rotterdam Live date, likely to be scheduled for fall 2012.

Tickets that are bought online through www.worm.org will remain valid for the new date or will be reimbursed.

We’d like to thank the people who have been supporting us towards the realization and promotion of the event. We’re really sorry that this is happening so close to the actual date, as we were really looking forward to this one. Let’s hope we can get a new fixed date soon.

Zeg nou zelf, welke zichzelf respecterende NDW / pop / no wave fan heeft nu niet de hoekige zuurkool groove van ‘Telephon’ en het onsterfelijke ‘Wir Bauen Eine Neue Stadt’ in zijn of haar geheugen gegrift staan? Palais Schaumburg is naast D.A.F. en Der Plan (Worm, 05.05.2007) de meest invloedrijke Neue Deutsche Welle band van begin jaren tachtig. Het geluid van dit oorspronkelijk Hamburgse viertal heeft na drie decennia niets aan relevantie moeten inboeten. In 2011 bliezen Holger Hiller, Thomas Fehlmann, Timo Blunck en Ralf Hertwig (de klassieke line up dus) nieuw leven in de band. In deze hoedanigheid zal Palais Schaumburg dan ook op het Worm podium te vinden zijn. Omdat deze avond meer moet zijn dan een nostalgie trip hebben we ook een interessante nieuwkomer uit de Berlijnse ondergrond uitgenodigd die onder de noemer ‘Jobs Of The Future’ een bezeten, hoorspel-achtige tape collage performance zal brengen.
