The Hickey Underworld e Nightwitches
In 2006 won dit opwindende viertal de gouden plak op Humo’s Rock Rally. Een overwinning die hen een plekje op alle betere podia in zowel binnen- als buitenland opleverde (o.a. als support van dEUS in Frankrijk). De invloeden van de band rond zanger Younes Faltakh laten zich gewillig vangen onder de noemer ‘compromisloze en smerige noiserock’, als daar zijn: The Jesus Lizard, Dinosaur Jr.
, Fugazi, Shellac en Sonic Youth. En uiteraard ook de punk en hardcore van het Amerikaanse Dischord label met The Nation Of Ulysses waar de band zijn straffe mosterd voor zijn groepsnaam haalde. Fast forward naar februari 2012. Dan brengt de band het nieuwe album ‘I’m Under The House, I’m Dying’ uit, opnieuw in een productie van Das Pop en gemixed in LA door Dave Sardy die recent nog achter de knoppen van Noel Gallagher’s High Flyin’ Birds zat. Denk aan ‘Mystery Bruise’ en ‘Future Words’, check de spraakmakende clips op YouTube en slechts één conclusie dringt zich op: dit is een concert om naar uit te kijken!
