De Britse band Anathema is begin jaren negentig opgericht als doom/death-metal band, maar twintig jaar later is daar niet veel van over. In de loop van Anathema’s bestaan evolueerde de muziek van harde doom via progressieve rock en postrock tot de verrassend melodieuze en sfeervolle rock die het nieuwe album ‘Falling Deeper’ laat horen. Het verscheen op 1 september 2011 en bevat nieuwe interpretaties van oud Anathema-materiaal, waaronder ‘Crestfallen’, ‘Kingdom’ en ‘Sunset Of Age’. De overwegend instrumentale nummers zijn betoverend, verstild en melancholisch. Op het nummer ‘Everwake’, een van de weinige met vocalen, zingt Anneke van Giersbergen van The Gathering.

Great concert and awesome setlist! Too bad the sound in the venue wasn't too good. Very hard to distinguish the individual instruments in that very loud 'wall of sound'... Especially Danny's guitar volume was over the top. None the less, I really enjoyed it!
