Danish 5 piece VETO are thrilled to announce their first London show since their appearance at the packed out Barfly earlier this year.

VETO hail from Aarhus in Denmark. A shared love of pre-programmed electronic rhythm and unrestrained rock energy allow the five-piece to create anthemic songs, built up of edgy, rhythmic guitar riffs led by the melodic vocals of Troels Abrahamsen proclaimed by critics to have one of the most significant voices on the Danish rock scene.

Before VETO there was nothing, at least not on the wide electronic stage in Denmark. It is VETO who have tamed the machines and opened up the once very solitary corner of this particular musical niche. Without letting go of their strong sense of self, they have gained artistic recognition, been commercially blessed, played sold-out concerts at home and abroad, and won numerous awards. As Troels states; ‘Everything doesn’t have to be immediate. Art has to work as research. You’re building on top of what has come before, and things take time. Ask yourselves: Do you play music to promote yourselves, or to perfect an expression?’

This autumn marks the band’s statement of intent. For a band built for arenas, this show takes place in the more intimate underground settings of London’s XOYO on Thursday November 17th.
