Among the most unexpected shows of this year, A Perfect Circle definitely rocked my little universe tonight. I say "unexpected" since they had been on hiatus for so long, and were skeptical they would ever work together as a band again. So when they announced they were coming to our nation's capital with a show, I was kind of ecstatic actually.
Clad in all black, confident, absolutely engrossed in the flow of his music, rocking dreads and wearing glasses Maynard James Keenan remained purposefully in the shadows the entire time on stage. A Perfect Circle are among the least interactive bands I have seen live. All he said to the audience was "good evening" half way through the show, and "thank you" at the end, as well as introducing the band members. From my perspective, they are entitled to leave things a bit mysterious if they so desire. Their music is worth a thousand words anyway.
