正午すぎ、うだるような暑さの砂浜へ。
日本一ビーチの似合うロックンローラー
クドカン似のサワヤカさん Caravan 登場。
気持ちいい〜。「Free Byrd」でシンガロング大会。

一転してビーチの似合わない人たちの登場。
カヒミの生歌を真夏のビーチで聴く日が来るなんて。
麗しのミューズをサポートするのは
夏に見ると暑くるしい Jim O'Rourke と
いつ見ても暑くるしい 大友良英。
3人とも十代の頃からの私のアイドルのため
目の前に並んでるのが不思議な感じ。
穏やかだけど予定調和を許さぬアンサンブル。
この演奏は空調の利いた室内で聴きたかった。

メッセの中はなんて快適なんだ。
主役の Conor Oberst は
シンガーソングライター然としているけれど、
白いスーツで揃えた管弦入りの
大編成バンドが奏でるのは
めくるめくオーケストラル・ポップ。
Conor のルーツがどこかは知りませんが、
アイリッシュっぽさを感じるメロディーに
白いスーツに長髪のルックスが相まって、
69年頃の John Lennon を思わせました。

ものすごい人気ぶり。みんな大好き Cyndi Lauper。
客席だけでなく、ステージ袖にも人がいっぱい。
ステージ下(というか私の目の前だ)では出番を終えた
The Polyphonic Spree の面々が踊りまくっている。
率直な感想はすべてが「古い」
シンセの音色もアクションもMCも。
あまりにイメージ通りの Cyndi Lauper。
ルックスや歌声は衰えを感じさせず、
アーリー80sから真空パックでやって来たかのようだ。
途中ポリフォニックの Tim DeLaughter が
ステージに呼ばれ「Time After Time」をデュエット。
Timがものすごくうれしそう。
ラストはステージ袖のガールズ達と
ステージ下のポリフォニックのメンバー達を
みんなステージに上げて「Girls Just Wanna Have Fun」
メッセ全体が「ハイスクールはダンステリア」状態に。
リアル「ディラン&キャサリン」な世界。
異次元空間に迷い込んだよう。ものすごく面白い！
終演後、悦びを分かち合った
ポリフォニックの面々とハイタッチしました。

家を出てから眠りにつくまでがショウタイム。

in other news, Manic Street Preachers and the Pet Shop Boys added to summer sonic tokyo. i think i'm back to wanting to go again, but i really really wanna see some japanese stuff if i'm gonna be in japan. wish they would add some jp bands i like ><.
at the moment 大塚愛 concert on june 28th is still when i'm planning my japan summer trip for, but if my jp friend would help me buy sumer sonic tix, then i guess that would seal the deal for summer sonic instead of ai. really want to see some jpop live though while in japan ><, but i havent seen manics in like 8 years now >< -
GO!GO!7188 trip booked^^

so heading down to see my beloved GO!GO!7188 for first time this sunday in Hollywood. don't feel like driving so taking the train then gonna grab the subway from Union Station to Hollywood. was planning to stay at this cheap 2* motel cause i'm on a tight budget with planning for Summer Sonic 2007 in tokyo. anywho i put booking the room off til this week and it was sold out as was all the other cheap ass places near the club where GO!GO!7188 is playing. and i didnt wanna walk too far cause hollywood is really seedy at night ><
decided to try priceline.com and i ended up getting a 4* hotel like 50 feet away from the club and the subway station^^ woot. and all for the same price as the 2* place lol. hope gogo is staying at same hotel since its closest 4* hotel to the venue^^ -

k, so the lineup for Summer Sonic 2007 isn't exactly what i was hoping for but there are a couple of bands i look forward to seeing live though. so should be a fun festival either way. i'm really disappointed no japanese bands were listed though. i know japanese don't seem to like listening to japanese artist, but still give some props to your local artist a little. hopefully they add some more stuff. there's hoping, last year they had GO!GO!7188 atleast.
anywho, i'll have fun running around checking out these groups atleast
