Sat 21 Apr – Aereogramme, The Twilight Sad, A Northern Chorus

First let is be said I think Emo's Lounge sucks monkeys. Terrible venue for both shows I've seen there - give me the intimacy of the inside stage any time. Less like seeing a rock show and more like seeing a school play or cabaret with the seperation of the stage and lowered audience floor to raised bar area.

A Northern Chorus - stings, Canadian, not my cup of tea. If you have nothing nice to say.....

The Twilight Sad apparently this was THE band du jour and the reason ninety percent of the audience was there. I took an unfairly instantaneous and irrational dislike towards this band which I blame mostly on the overly studied moves of the singer which had the appearance of a youth grown up practicing his Curtis/McCullough stylings in front of his bedroom mirror. Truly musically it was fine and dandy; a bit noisy, a bit pretty, and I genuinely liked one of the songs it might have been "Talking with Fireworks"…
