Blink 182 return to Ireland!

Pioneers of modern day pop-punk Blink-182 have announced they will play a concert at The 02 Dublin on August 31st 2010. Tickets go on sale this Thursday April 1st at 9am.

The hiatus is over, Blink-182 are back and coming to The 02!

The story of Blink-182 is already familiar to most fans of rock music, the pop-punk band formed in the suburbs of San Diego in 1993 when they released their debut album Cheshire Cat. Follow up albums went on to sell millions of copies and featured such generation defining hit singles as “All The Small Things”, “What’s My Age Again” and “Rock Show”. They have played countless stages around the world and are one of the world’s most wanted, most recognized and most emulated pop-punk acts.

Blink-182’s last ever concert was a sold out show at The Point Depot in 2005 after which they split to pursue solo projects.

A brief statement posted on their website reads “To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album.”

Tickets go on sale this Thursday April 1st at 9am.

    Comment below, well thanks as I managed to stay at the barrier in the once place for the whole show... It was incredible. @adamb1026 Your predictions weren't exactly correct, I queued longer than any of the 14,000 people there and I was at the barrier for the whole night. :P

    The fact is, the crowd was either going to be rowdy 20-25 year olds relieving their youth while being too blocked to care what they were doing, or a bunch of screaming girls with an average age of 14. I am very happy it wasn't the latter and will take the violence over the shitness. Pits were small but good although I am big enough and built enough to handle myself, plus I knew what to do, many others weren't/didn't. Some cunts thought headbutting and kicking guys in the balls was quite alright. I have to hand it to any girl who managed to stay the whole set down the front.

    Predictions were correct, even as soon as twin atlantic came on, who were fuckin brilliant, left. Again, at blink, people who were at the front, probably queued for hours, left. thanks to them leaving though, i got right to the front of tom de longe. was much moshing, more the crowd as a human sea wave. but good none the less. wanted the sloppiness i heard all those years ago. felt too re-defined .

    It was a great gig well worth the 6-7 years wait! :D Am was there a pit at it though? I was a bit peeved off that i didnt get near the middle front i was on the far left of marks side but still really close to the barrier. So lucky i didnt colapse. :D

    I got one of Travis's drum sticks :D ended up leaving about 8/9 songs in..because i had to hold it against my chest (to keep an eye on it) and so my ribs/stuff were getting totally crushed from my hand being there...i would have been okay otherwise. After i asked to get pulled out....I realised i probaly should/couldve stayed longer...but then later realised if i had fainted...i'd probaly have lost the drum stick...so much better to have got out of there! :)
