insidethishead Phoenix stole the show! vampire weekend- had a hard time upping phoenix spoon- was not good, they played unenthusiastically and no one was into it manchester orchestra and white rabbits- no one seemed to be feeling it

newspapered Vampire Weekend were just as (un)thrilling as they are on CD. And I missed White Rabbits. But hte otheres were awesomeeeee

Tron1276 ...I mean, I AM NOT callin' bullshit, because these guys seem fairly down-to-earth still, but...I'm also not NOT callin' bullshit. I'm just sayin'- they've had a long, busy, exhausting year, I'm sure...so maybe just band tiredness or exhaustion was the cause for the whole halfhearted set. I just wish they only could've played more than 4 fast songs, especially since was acoustic! ...Oh well, the Flaming Lips put on an obviously awesome show as expected, after Phoenix's disappointment (and Pete Yorn did a surprisingly enjoyable opening slot too), so it certainly wasn't all bad, but...Dammit!! Sorry for ranting on here-...I'm glad you all had a cool 'hootenanny". :)

WAIT. ...WHAT the FUCK!? Phoenix fucking played!?!? Like, as in a "real"/FULL set!? ...the night before this at the show in Chicago, they only played a FOUR-jam-set (acoustically too!) and then quickly bolted; apparently due to a band/health/family-emergency that seemed pretty serious...plus, Thomas also announced that due to all of this 'sudden news' they would't be playing until further notice, which seemed like it would NOT be anytime soon based on how serious he and the MC for the night implied. I've loved everything these guys' have been a part of ever since the 1st time I heard Thomas on AIR's "Playground Love" in 2000, and have had the amazing opportunity to see 'em live every chance time come around since 'Alphabetical', but the main reason I went to this show was to excitedly see one of my long-time-favorite-bands play close out an awesome year for shows...
