It was my first ATP and although i was with a friend who has identical taste in music and a couple who just came because it was my 21st everyone seemed to enjoy it. I'll probably go again but the only thing i have to say is that i felt a little hostility towards my friends and even myself, seemingly telling people you're there for modest mouse isn't good enough and some guy in the smoking area near the irish bar actually went on to dissect, in some detail, one of my favourite bands and also had something to say about my Leeds festival wristbands. If that was you, then you're a prick. All in all i did have a well good birthday and Modest Mouse were my highlight. Edan's 'The Dee Jay' set was also great although the majority of that Friday night is now a blurrr.

"The best bit was after the first 45 minutes or so when Attila came out with his laser gloves and crystal skull" oh shit, i can't believe i missed that! we only caught about 30 mins of the second sunn set, the first one was astonishing though, definitely a highlight. also lightning bolt, shellac, melvins. kind of regret missing afrirampo now seeing all this positive feedback, really wanted to watch om though (they were great too!). awesome festival, thanks to everyone involved in making it happen :)

Glad Lightning Bolt got people jumping around, and it was a bit mental with Afrirampo (band of the weekend?) crowd surfing .... whilst everyone else was in bed. Loved the spontaneous turning of the mushroom into a giant drum after too. Battles wern't as good I remember as last time I saw them. Dirty Three were great. Shellac's banter was on an equal also...had to come home and dig out End Of Radio, a band which I'd shockingly passed by for a long time. Explosions were pretty damn awesome too. Ahh awesome weekend....hope everyone had fun :)

The best bit was after the first 45 minutes or so when Attila came out with his laser gloves and crystal skull, my 4th time seeing Sunn O))) and the best show yet. Not sure what you expect people to do when watching Lightning Bolt? Stand still with arms folded? I guess having them on stage allowed people to go a little more wild than usual.

I really like Monoliths and Dimensions but that second SunnO))) set was like a bad joke. There were a few cool moments but I stuck it out for 40 minutes and realised it wasn't going to get any more interesting. Shellac and Melvins were awesome, Lightning Bolt was madness but it's a pity that their audience seems to consist of a majority of cunts these days. Watching them on a stage was like seeing Slayer or something and I had to defend my glasses from getting smashed apart from a load of spastic wankers a few times.

"someone saying sunn are called. 'Sunn 0 BRACKET BRACKET BRACKET. ha ha" that might have been my flatmate, he was convinced it was a much better name. the second set was disturbingly loud. there were a lot of people leaving in the first 10/20 minutes around me. shellac were great as well, and explosions, wonderful. awesome weekend guys, keep it up!

Is it me or do Shellac just keep getting better every year? Deerhoof and Sleepy Sun among the other stand-outs for me. Oh, and please put Beef Warehouse DJs back in the Crazy Horse bar next year and give them at least a four-hour slot on the Saturday night. Thanks again ATP. Keep it up.

Sunn O))) second set was incredible. Fuck Buttons played on of the best shows I've ever seen, the floor was bouncing during Flight of the Feathered Serpent. YYYs great, Shellac great, Deerhoof great. Was a little disappointed by Battles, new stuff sounds a bit fairground. Gutted I missed Lightning Bolt, that queue was absolutely ridiculous. Modest Mouse were a lot better than i was expecting, quite a few older ones thrown in there.

Lightning Bolt's set is probably in my Top 5 of all time, complete fucking madness. Much better playing on stage than in the crowd too.
