Muse will play The NIA on Tuesday 10 November 2009 as part of a UK and European tour which coincides with the release of their forthcoming album, The Resistance. The band has self-produced their fifth studio album in Italy, which will be mixed with Mark ‘Spike’ Stent (Massive Attack, U2 and Oasis).


It goes without saying that fans can expect an ambitious and powerful show from these three friends from Teignmouth in Devon; remember they were the first band to play the newly built Wembley Stadium back in 2007. The 140,000 lucky fans in attendance were treated to the band rising from the middle of the venue, floating acrobatics, giant exploding balloons and of course, an unbelievably spectacular set from one of the most ambitious live acts in the world today.

The Guardian’s reviewer was moved to comment: “Few are more suited than MUSE to take on what Pele described as the cathedral of football” in a rare 5/5 review.

    sancezz you were obviously in a good spot... I was right by the pit for most of the gig and ended up nearly on the floor at one point. And some girl kept trying to push me into the pit (which I really wasn't appreciating...). Not that it wasn't worth it of course :D

    Awesome gig...was sat directly to the side of the stage so did get a bit worried I wouldn't see anything when I saw the huge towers on stage...but clearly my fears were unjustified as when the show kicked off I had a fantastic view. Next year can't come soon enough when I see them in manchester!!!

    Oh and EndlessSandGirl, I was standing, in the middle pretty much. the crowd was very tame where I was, very tame. Though there wasn't much space there was never a time when I found myself almost falling over or getting crushed or anything like that. I didn't see a pit until Knights of Cydonia, where a massive one appeared in front of us. Believe it or not, a recent Bloc Party gig I went towas MUCH harsher than this...

    Immennssssseeeee. MK ULTRA instead of Unintended? Very very nice surprise indeed. Overture was just as amazing as I hoped it would be. Matt's glasses were awesome at the beginning. Muse have nailed their solund perfectly. At Wembley Stadium it was a bit off, but this time, at Birmingham, it was fantastic. Map of the Problematique sounded perfect. I've noticed Muse have had trouble with that song live, and now they've nailed it. Brilliant.

    First time I've seen them outside of a festival and was bowled over, utterly in awe of the set and the atmosphere and their impeccable wall of sound. Sometimes subtle, sometimes headbangingly heavy, always powerful... just incredible. I'd go again in a heartbeat. Glad I was seated though as the moshers looked like they were living on borrowed time! Respect to you though guys, it looked like fun! Muse rock. The end x
