One of the UK’s best selling and most innovative bands, Duran Duran, will be performing at Edinburgh Castle on Thursday 16th July as part of the 2009 Edinburgh Castle Concert series. Tickets went on sale Friday 27th March at 10am. Tickets are all seated and priced at £40.00 / £35.00 (plus booking fee).

Barry Wright, Director of Castle Concerts said “It’s great to be having Duran Duran at Edinburgh Castle this summer. We first put them on at the beginning of their career and, twelve studio albums and 70 million record sales later, we’re delighted that they have agreed to return to Scotland to play this truly unique venue.”

Despite the occasional pauses and some re-grouping in the 1990’s the band remain a relevant force in music. On their last studio recording, Red Carpet Massacre, they worked with top producers Timbaland and Nate ‘Danja’ Hills, as well as, lifelong Duran Duran fan Justin Timberlake. They are currently in the studio writing and recording with producer Mark Ronson.

“We are currently in the studio, working on new music,” reported singer Simon Le Bon earlier today, “so are only going to be doing a handful of special dates this year. When the offer to play in this historic location presented itself, we were all keen to make it happen. It’s been a while since we’ve played in Scotland – but have always had a great time playing to audiences there.”

This is a No Smoking concert, and drinks are not allowed.
Doors open at 19:00PM, Show Time: 19:45.
Under 14’s MUST be accompanied by an adult.
